Haw Creek Sidewalk Celebration & Parade (11/07/2026)

HCCA invites you, your family, and your neighbors to join us on Saturday, November 7 at 10:30 am for a special celebration as we officially open our new sidewalk.

This exciting milestone represents years of planning, perseverance and community collaboration to make Haw Creek a safer, more walkable and connected neighborhood. Our news post, A Sidewalk Years in the Making, includes the history of this project.

We'll kick off the commemoration with an official ribbon-cutting ceremony on the sidewalk at Charlie Bullman Park, followed by a community parade along our new sidewalk to Creekside Taphouse.

Once we arrive at Creekside, the celebration will continue with light bites courtesy of Creekside Taphouse and HCCA, along with $1 off beer!

Bring the kids, decorate your bikes and strollers, and don't forget your four-legged friends – leashed dogs are welcome to join the fun.

This is more than just a sidewalk. It's another step forward in making Haw Creek an even better place to live, walk, and connect with neighbors.

Join the Haw Creek Community Association for our next community meeting on Tuesday, November 10 at 7:00 pm at Evergreen Community Charter School.

This is your chance to catch up on what’s happening in our neighborhood, meet community leaders, hear what’s coming next, and connect with fellow Haw Creek neighbors.

Reducing Fire Risk
EcoForesters will share practical information and ideas for making our homes and neighborhood more resilient to wildfire.

Meet Our New Community Response Officer
We’ll introduce Justin Lewis, our new Community Response Officer, and give you an opportunity to get to know him.

Brandon Bryant will join us to share the current plans for the development at 767 New Haw Creek Road.

Program and Event Updates

Hear from HCCA President Michelle Decker about new program ideas and events, including the Care Bears project and a Silent Auction Gala.

Dessert and Conversation
We’ll wrap up the evening with a dessert social—a chance to keep the conversation going, meet new neighbors, and enjoy some treats together.

RSVPs are appreciated to help us get a sense of attendance, but they are not required. Come join us, bring your questions, and be part of the conversation about our community.

Community Potluck and Friendsgiving (11/22/2026)

You and your family are cordially invited to join us for a potluck dinner on Sunday evening, 6-8 pm, November 22 at Groce United Methodist Church. This is the Sunday before Thanksgiving; if you will be hosting Thanksgiving dinner a few days later, this is a chance to take a break by making one dish and joining us to share a variety of food from your fellow Haw Creek residents. If you have no plans for Thanksgiving, call this your Friendsgiving and take this opportunity to connect with your Haw Creek family. Invite your neighbors too!

Every resident of Haw Creek is invited to join us for this free community dinner. Doors will open at 5:30 pm and dinner will begin at 6:00 pm. Please bring a dish to share; water and tea will be provided by HCCA.

We will not be keeping track of who is bringing what food, but please RSVP with the number of people you will be bringing so we will have some idea of how many plates and cups we will need to provide.

We look forward to this evening of sharing.

Holiday Cookie Exchange & Contest (12/12/2026)

HCCA is sponsoring Haw Creek's third annual Holiday Cookie Exchange & Contest on December 12 at 4:00 pm at the Library. This free event is open to 30 bakers and 10 children who can participate in a cookie decorating activity.

Bakers should bring 2 dozen homemade cookies for exchanging. Cookie boxes will be provided for you to take home the cookies you select. Refreshments will also be provided.

There will be 3 awards: Best Tasting, Best Presentation and Most Creative.

Space is limited to 40 total so register today to save your spot and start planning to bake your most scrumptious cookies! Your registration confirmation will include details about participation.
