HCCA initiated this project in response to the increased wildfire risks in the Haw Creek valley post-Helene. We have collaborated with the City of Asheville, Asheville Fire Department and local experts to bring the first in a series of Haw Creek Prevention Awareness program, through the National Fire Protection Association.

HCCA is also working towards a Firewise Community Certification, in which the City of Asheville will use Haw Creek's achievements as a model for other Asheville neighborhoods.
HCCA prepared a Fire Prevention Presentation on key information resources that are available and safety measures that you can implement immediately to reduce your personal risks.
