Following our initial wildfire risk presentation in May, we are pleased to present the next phase of our community wildfire preparedness initiative. Join us Thursday, September 4, as we move from awareness to action, focusing on Haw Creek’s wildfire risks and the community-driven steps we can take to prepare and build resilience for wildfire.

At this interactive workshop we’ll explore:

  • What it means to be a fire-adapted community, and how we get there
  • A closer look at Haw Creek’s wildfire risk profile
  • HCCA’s wildfire mitigation planning efforts for the coming year and how you can get involved

Featured speakers:

  • Jen Gustafson - Fire Adaptation Professional & Consultant, Wooden Eye Resource Management
  • Dustin Bradley - Local Mitigation Specialist & Consultant, Old Mountain Land Management

This work is part of HCCA’s initiative to earn Firewise USA® Community Certification, a nationally recognized model of wildfire preparedness. With the support of the City of Asheville, the Asheville Fire Department, and local experts, Haw Creek is helping lead the way in neighborhood wildfire resilience across the region.

This is your chance to help shape Haw Creek’s wildfire planning efforts and learn practical actions to protect your home, your neighbors, and our shared community.

Registration is not required but it helps us plan for a successful event.
